Elmira adds former wrestlers Duke, Sindoni to staff
Elmira College is turning to two of its own to fill out its women’s wrestling coaching staff.
Former Soaring Eagles wrestlers Abby Duke and Emily Sindoni are joining the staff for the 2026-27 season, the school announced. Both will work under head coach Cody Griswold.
Duke was a two-time national qualifier during her four-year career at Elmira. She captured the 110-pound title at the 2025 NCWWC Region I Championships, helping the Soaring Eagles win their first regional team championship in program history.
Duke added another piece of program history in 2026, winning the 110-pound crown at the inaugural Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships. She also earned first-team all-conference honors.
Sindoni arrived at Elmira with an impressive high school resume. The Nichols, New York, native was a standout at Tioga High School, where she won back-to-back NHSCA national championships in 2022 and 2023. She also claimed a title at the inaugural New York State girls wrestling invitational in 2023 and received the National Wrestling Hall of Fame’s Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award that same year.
Sindoni began her college career at D’Youville, spending her freshman season there before transferring to Elmira in 2024.
Sindoni isn’t new to coaching, either. She previously served as a co-head coach of the Elmira Express girls wrestling program.
