Women's wrestling became an official 3C2A sport in 2023, giving California's two-year colleges their own state championship. Cerritos College has dominated from the start, winning every title since the sport's inception and sealing a fourth straight in 2026 with 239 points at the state championship in Fresno, consistently outpacing runner-up Mt. San Antonio College. The event has moved venues each year. Sacramento City College hosted in 2024, East Los Angeles College in 2025 -- and starting in 2027 the format will add North and South regional qualifiers ahead of state, mirroring the structure already used in men's wrestling.
