About WCWA Women's Wrestling

In 2008, women's college wrestling coaches formalized the Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association (WCWA), establishing bylaws, eligibility rules, and a season structure running from fall through a late-January national championship. The first WCWA Nationals were held at Oklahoma City University, where Cumberlands claimed the inaugural title. Oklahoma City went on to win four consecutive team titles, a streak later matched by King (2014-17). In 2014, Simon Fraser teammates Victoria Anthony and Helen Maroulis became the WCWA's first four-time national champions, each clinching their fourth title in the same tournament. Emily Webster (Oklahoma City) reached four-time champion status the following year, and Kayla Miracle (Campbellsville) did the same in 2018.
